Rising Star entry deadline coming up on Tuesday

The deadline is coming up Tuesday to enter this year's Rising Star of the West scholarship contest.

That's open to all Black Hills area high school students.

Entering is a pretty simple process.

All you need to do is to record a short video of yourself talking about anything important to you.

From those, we'll pick our 20 contestants who will tape commentaries in our studio that we'll air on our news.

We'll get our four finalists from that group and they'll be back to compete for a total of $7,500 in scholarships from Black Hills FOX and Granite Automotive.

This year's winner gets a $4,000 scholarship.
