Tim Cha

Tim joins the WVVA weather team from Hickory, NC, an hour away from the Appalachian mountains and an hour away from Charlotte. One of his favorite channels to watch as a kid was the weather channel's local on the 8s. What made him more curious about the weather was trying to understand why one day it showed rain or snow in the forecast and then the next day, it was sunny skies and dry. That's how he knew, he wanted to become a weather forecaster.

Tim graduated from UNC Asheville in December 2013. Though he had to put his career dreams on hold, he never stopped forecasting weather for the community of western NC even until this day.

In his free time Tim likes to workout, hike to see the beautiful fall colors, and go to the beach on his time off.
