Ken Curtis

Ken Curtis' career has spanned decades, making him among the longest-serving broadcast industry professionals in the nation.

After beginning his career as a radio talent in 1969, Ken transitioned to television news in 1989 and spent more than two decades as newsroom manager.

He joined the WTVY team as an investigative reporter in 2015 and was named news director in 2024.

He has received prestigious awards, including Best Spot News, for his coverage of a boy held hostage for nearly a week in an underground bunker.

The Associated Press honored Ken for his retrospective of a mysterious murder case that gripped Alabama, and he received an award for a documentary focusing on the 20-year cold case involving the murders of two high school students.

His political interviews include U.S. Presidents Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, First Lady Barbara Bush, and every Alabama governor dating back to George Wallace.

President Donald Trump awarded Ken the President's Volunteer Service Award because of his work promoting Wiregrass Angel House's mission. This group assists those impacted by violent crime.

Ken enjoys fishing, shopping , and piddling in his spare time.

He is married to Rea, and the couple has several children and grandchildren.
