A recipient of a National Edward R. Murrow award and a six time Emmy-nominated anchor, Domonique Benn has helped to lead the KSLA News 12 anchor team since 2010.
Domonique has a background in investigative reporting. Many of her investigative reports have been picked up by national media outlets and received national awards.
Domonique is also a recipient of two regional Edward R. Murrow Awards. One of the awards recognized Domonique’s investigative report, "Bad Medicine". She was also a part of team coverage on a deadly train wreck and chlorine spill while working in Augusta, Ga.
While working in Virginia, she was recognized by the Virginia Associated Press as "Best Anchor of the Year" for the entire state. Domonique's hard work earned her national recognition when she was featured in Ebony magazine as one of 30 talented young adults on the rise.
Domonique has worked in newsrooms in Mississippi, Georgia, and Virginia. During her career, Domonique has interviewed numerous national leaders. From politics to entertainment, she has covered it all.
Domonique is a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and the National Association of Black Journalists. She also is a member of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Mid-American Emmy chapter and was previously on the Board of Governors for the chapter. She's very active in the Ark-La-Tex and is very active in the March of Dimes.
She continues to share her life's philosophy: "I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul."
