Makenna Leisifer is one of the CW 10 O'Clock news producers and also produces the weekend evening shows.
Makenna started working for the station in July 2023.
She was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, and is a proud Yinzer.
Makenna originally started at Penn State University- New Kensington in 2019 for two years of college, studying Communications, with an emphasis in Journalism. She started to find a niche in producing after COVID-19 affected the spring semester of her freshmen year of college. She worked on a self-directed, produced, and edited project during her time at Penn State that made her want to work as a producer. She transferred in 2021 to WVU, where she began her journey into TV. She was the first producer for a public affairs show called, "West Virginia Today," a show built off of a donor grant to showcase post-pandemic stories across the state of West Virginia. She also was the main producer on the Emmy-award-winning student-produced newscast, "WVU News" in her last semester, covering local stories across West Virginia University's campus, as well as across Monongalia County. Makenna graduated from West Virginia University in May 2023, where she received her bachelor's degree in Journalism with a minor in Sports Communication.
She is a proud Mountaineer and is so excited to call the Mountain State home.
In her free time, she loves to travel, craft, and spend time with her loved ones.
