Woman found dead in home after not showing up to pick up daughter from airport
VANCOUVER, Wash. (KPTV/Gray News) - A woman was found dead in her home after she never showed up to pick up her daughter from the airport on Tuesday.
Stephanie Ayersman says she talked to her mom, 78-year-old Patricia Jimerfield, every day and knew something was wrong when she never showed up at the airport to pick her and her son up.
Ayersman was unable to get ahold of her mom while she and her son waited at the airport, so she called her aunt. Her aunt went to Jimerfield’s home and found her body.
“I’m not going to go into detail on how she was killed. It was brutal and she did not deserve that, she did not deserve,” Ayersman said.
Jimerfield’s home was reportedly broken into twice before she was killed. Whoever broke into her home allegedly stole her wallets.
According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, Jimerfield was notified by the bank on Oct. 8 that there were pending fraudulent charges on her account. That is when she checked her purse and discovered that her wallet was missing and filed a fraud report with the sheriff’s office.
The sheriff’s office says there were no signs of forced entry or burglary at the home after she was found dead Tuesday night.
“They took away my heart, my rock, my soul, and I don’t know how to go on. If anyone sees anything, saw anything, knows anything please call the police. I really want whoever did this to get caught,” Ayersman said.
Investigators said they are looking into the fraudulent charges.
Jimerfield’s death has been ruled a homicide, but the sheriff’s office has not said if they have any suspects or if anyone has been arrested.
The investigation is ongoing.
