MOUNT OLIVET, Ky. (WXIX/Gray News) - A northern Kentucky woman faces a capital murder charge after she was arrested last week when her mother’s dismembered and apparently cooked body parts were found inside a home.
Torilena Fields, 32, was indicted on Oct. 14 on charges of capital murder, abuse of a corpse, tampering with physical evidence, obstructing governmental operations and torturing of a dog with serious physical injury or death, according to the Robertson County court records.
The victim has been identified as Trudy Fields, Torilena Fields' mother, according to family and court documents.
WARNING: This story contains details that some may find disturbing.
A blood-covered Torilena Fields had to be removed from a home on Brierly Ridge Road on Oct. 9 after she refused to come out, according to Kentucky State Police.
Earlier that day at around 12:30 p.m., troopers responded to a call about a deceased woman on Brierly Ridge Road in Robertson County.
The call came from a man who said he arrived at the home to do work for the owner of the property, Trudy Fields, police said.
He told troopers he was at the property the day before and saw Trudy Fields and Torilena Fields.
“On [Oct. 8], [the witness] stated Torilena was casting spells on them and was being confrontational,” troopers wrote in her arrest paperwork.
The man told troopers he knocked on the home’s door, but no one answered.
He went searching for the property owner and that’s when he made the grisly discovery.
After noticing drag marks in the grass, the man followed them and was led to a dismembered body behind the home, according to state police’s citation.
The arms, legs and head were all removed from the body later identified as Trudy Fields, investigators said.
According to the citation, troopers also found “multiple body parts and organs” inside of a folded mattress next to the body.
Trudy Fields' head, hands, feet and forearms were in a pot on the kitchen stove, court records explain.
Torilena Fields heated the body parts in the oven “until they were charred,” according to the documents.
On the same day Torilena Fields is accused of murdering and dismembering the victim, court records say she “intentionally tortured and killed a domestic dog.”
Torilena Fields' bond was set at $1.5 million, the Oct. 14 court records show.
A plea of not guilty was entered for the 32-year-old, who was appointed a public defender.
She is scheduled to return to court on Oct. 23 at 8:30 a.m.
