Satellite imagery shows before and after pictures of Hurricane Milton’s damage
TAMPA, Fla. (Gray News) - Florida residents are beginning to clean up after yet another powerful hurricane tore through the state.
Floridians pushed their way through flooded streets to assess the damage to their homes on Friday after Hurricane Milton smashed through multiple communities and spawned deadly tornadoes.
Maxar Technologies recently shared satellite imagery that showed the damage Milton left behind in certain parts of Florida.
Some of the damage in the Tampa area included roof panels atop Tropicana Field, the home of the Tampa Bay Rays, being ripped to shreds by Milton with scattered debris across the field and throughout the seating areas.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis warned residents to not let down their guard, citing ongoing safety threats that include downed power lines and standing water as rescue and clean-up efforts continue.
NBC News reports the storm has killed at least 14 people as millions of residents also lost power during Milton with crews continuing to work on restoring power to the area.
Milton’s landfall comes just weeks after Hurricane Helene also came ashore as a powerful storm in Florida’s Big Bend area.
