FARGO, N.D. (KVLY/Gray News) - A motorcyclist was charged with DUI after she was run over by a camper Monday evening in North Dakota.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a motorcycle driven by a 39-year-old woman from Fargo was traveling in the eastbound left lane of Interstate 94 just before 8:40 p.m.

The motorcyclist eventually caught up to traffic that had slowed before University Drive and Red River Bridge due to ongoing construction.

The traffic had slowly begun to move forward when the motorcycle tipped to the right and threw the woman off.

Officials said the woman landed in the middle lane when traffic started to move again. She was then run over by a camper trailer and dragged for a short distance.

Troopers said the woman suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

Officials said the woman faces the charges of DUI and driving a vehicle other than permitted by license, as she was not endorsed to ride a motorcycle.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the crash.
