Jelly Roll pulled over by Coast Guard while leaving concert
PUT-IN-BAY, Ohio (WTVG/Gray News) – Popular artist Jelly Roll said the U.S. Coast Guard pulled him over while he was leaving his performance at Put-in-Bay, Ohio.
The Grammy-nominated artist was the headliner for the Bash on the Bay music festival on the island Wednesday.
“So, we were leaving Bash on the Bay and we got pulled over by the Coast Guard!” Jelly Roll said in an Instagram story.
The musician went on to say, “It was crazy. We got the sheriff from the county with us, but that actually turned out to be OK. We’re back on our way. Thank you everybody who was concerned.”
According to the Ottawa County Sheriff, the stop from the Coast Guard was just a random safety check.
Officials said there were no citations, and everyone was free to go.
Earlier in the night, Jelly Roll had posted an Instagram story saying he had never been to a show that required a boat ride to get there.
“This is so cool,” he wrote on the post.
The star has had a big year, taking home the Country Music Award for New Artist of the Year.
