What was the mysterious comet-like object in the sky early Wednesday morning?

(WITN/WIS/Gray News) – Many people across the country noticed a strange object in the sky early Wednesday morning.

Although its appearance made people believe the object may have been a comet or meteor, reports have confirmed the object was actually a spacecraft launched by SpaceX.

The astronautics company conducted the Falcon 9 launch at 4:55 a.m. Wednesday morning, launching 20 Starlink satellites into low-Earth orbit.

The launch took place at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

A number of stargazers witnessed the spacecraft in the sky and sent in photos and video to news stations, wondering if they were observing a comet, meteor or a UFO.
