Woman missing for days after going for run, swim; husband arrested
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (KPHO/Gray News) - Authorities in Arizona say a woman remains missing after she disappeared over the weekend, and her husband is under arrest.
Flagstaff police and the Coconino County Sheriff’s Office said they are coordinating efforts to find 45-year-old Kelly Paduchowski.
Police began searching for Kelly after she went missing on Sunday when she did not return home following a run and a swim.
Authorities said Kelly’s family reported her missing shortly after 7:30 p.m. Sunday after not hearing from her since she left home around 1:30 p.m. that day.
Kelly’s white Mazda CX-5 was later found at Campbell Mesa Trailhead, police said.
On Monday, Flagstaff police said officers arrested her husband, 58-year-old Daniel Paduchowski, for aggravated assault.
Police didn’t provide details about what led to the arrest or what he was accused of doing but said Kelly may be a homicide victim.
“This investigation is ongoing and the No. 1 priority is to locate Kelly,” Flagstaff police said during a news conference on Tuesday. “However, based on current evidence and information, it is believed that Kelly may be the victim of a homicide.”
Flagstaff police said Kelly is 5-foot-8 and weighs about 140 pounds. She has blonde hair and blue eyes and was last seen wearing black shorts, a gray shirt and white running shoes.
Anyone with information on Kelly’s location has been urged to contact Flagstaff police at 928-774-1414 or Silent Witness at 928-774-6111.
