RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Getting outdoors this summer can be an intimidating task for some but one business is looking to make it a little easier with their e-bike rentals.

Deadwood Outdoor Rentals is located right on the edge of the city and offers a variety of ways to enjoy the hills, especially on an e-bike.

One of the most popular services they provide is a shuttle ride to a stop along the Mickelson trail allowing riders to take the bike back to the shop and enjoy the trip one way. Another option available is taking Deadwood’s trolley to their shop and then riding the bike into town to use while shopping or enjoying the city.

The main difference between a traditional bike and an e-bike is that a battery installed inside the bike will assist the peddles in turning. This allows riders of varying skill levels to use the bikes without feeling like they are outpacing each other. Another benefit of riding an e-bike is that it takes way less energy to cover wider distances.

“The Black Hills are beautiful it’s a good way to get in and see the internal part of the Black Hills instead of hiking the whole way. In a weekend activity, you could take the bike thirty miles in a day,” Machell McCoy an employee with Deadwood Outdoor Rentals said.

So if you’re looking to enjoy the outdoors this weekend, consider renting an e-bike.
