Former broadcaster Shad Olson back in court on domestic abuse charges

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Former local news anchor Shad Olson appeared in the Meade County Courthouse this morning for a non-evidentiary hearing in his aggravated assault case.

Friday’s court appearance moves Olson’s case one step closer to trial.

He is charged with domestic abuse aggravated assault/strangulation, for an incident in February of this year.

CONTEXT: Former KOTA TV and KNBN anchor pleads not guilty

The judge granted all motions heard including a motion of discovery for tangible evidence, a motion to disclose witnesses, a motion for expert testimony, and a motion for investigation.

The criminal case is currently set for a status hearing on August 16 when a trial date will likely be set.
