1 dead, 7 hospitalized after nightclub shooting, police say
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/Gray News) - One person is dead and seven more are in the hospital after a shooting at a Kentucky nightclub early Saturday morning.
Around 12:47 a.m., officers were sent to a business called H20 in the Russell neighborhood at 25th and Broadway, Louisville Metro police said.
Police said they found a man shot outside the club and gave first aid, but he died before he could be taken to the hospital.
The Jefferson County Coroner identified the man as 40-year-old Joseph D. Bowers of Indianapolis.
A second person who had been shot was also found outside and was taken to the University of Louisville Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
While officers were still at the scene, they were told about six other adults who walked into the hospital. The six are all expected to survive their injuries.
Police said they are still working to find the relationship, if any, between the victims.
The Louisville Metro Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating. There are currently no suspects.
