Crews working to fix broken water main on Deadwood Avenue
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - No one likes not having any water.
Yesterday at around 3:30 p.m., the City of Rapid City received calls from several businesses on Deadwood Avenue saying their water was out.
City Streets Division Superintendent Jesse Rieb says he sent a crew to the area and determined a 16-inch water main broke.
The crew was able to isolate the break and water service was restored to all the businesses except for one which was restored this afternoon.
Since this morning, the workers are still trying to repair the main.
Businesses from Plant Street to Cement Plant Road were without water service until early afternoon, but traffic remains impacted on Deadwood Avenue.
Drivers should use caution when driving on Deadwood Avenue and people can stay updated on the repair work through this link.
