Courtroom named in honor of Jeff W. Davis for his service to the community
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - On Thursday, June 20, Courtroom two in the Pennington County Courthouse was renamed to honor Jeff W. Davis and his years of service to the community.
Davis was a Rapid City native and one of the youngest circuit court judges. By the time of his retirement... Davis was the longest-serving judge in the state.
He played an integral role in building and adding to the Pennington County Courthouse and Jail in the late 1980s, and continued to play a role in the development of the Courthouse complex. Courtroom two was the courtroom where he practiced, he continued to show his passion for the community by helping restore the courtroom to its original state.
Today, the Pennington County Courthouse and Commissioners honored Davis and his work on restoring Courtroom two by renaming it after him.
