UPDATE: Arrest made in homicide near Cornerstone Rescue Mission
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - An update on the homicide from this morning June 20 resulted in the arrest of Michael Flores Jr., 32, of Rapid City, for first-degree murder.
Flores, who is currently on parole for assaulting a law enforcement officer and possession of a controlled substance, was also placed on a parole hold and booked into the Pennington County Jail.
The identity of the victim is being withheld until notification of next-of-kin has been made.

This morning around 3:01 a.m. on June 20, the Rapid City Police Department was dispatched to the area of 30 Main St. regarding an unconscious male subject found on the sidewalk with apparent wounds.
Upon arrival at the Cornerstone Rescue Mission, Rapid City Police officers and Pennington County Sheriff’s deputies located a white male victim. The victim was determined to have passed.
Multiple individuals were contacted in the area and provided information related to the investigation. Information received early in this investigation led investigators to a possible suspect, who has been contacted and is being interviewed regarding this case. At this time, this incident does not appear to be random, and there are no indications of an ongoing threat to the community.
