RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - A resolution could be coming for the man charged with killing 20-year-old Austin Freeman.

33-year-old William Daly is charged with first-degree murder, accused of killing Freeman at the intersection of North Maple and Van Buren Street back in August of 2021.

The Rapid City Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division said Freeman was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Monday in court, Daly’s attorney said she has been in contact with the state’s prosecutor to see if a plea deal could be reached before trial.

As of now, nothing has been made official but Daly’s trial is set for July 8th through the 12th.
