1-year-old boy dies after being found unconscious in backyard hot tub, officials say

PHOENIX (KPHO/Gray News) — A 1-year-old boy is dead after authorities said he was found in a backyard hot tub in Arizona.
Firefighters in Phoenix responded to a call for a drowning near Thomas Road and 55th avenue on Saturday.
When they arrived, they said they found the 1-year-old unconscious and not breathing in the backyard above-ground hot tub.
CPR was initiated before the crew’s arrival. The boy was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Officials said it was not known how long the boy had been in the water.
The Community Assistance Program has been sent to help the family.
An investigation into the events leading up to the drowning is being conducted.
