RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - This weekend the spirit of the Old West is alive and well in Deadwood with the annual Wild Bill Days running from Thursday through Saturday.

The event has been running for over 30 years now under a few different names and features a huge range of activities meant to celebrate the history of Deadwood.

It features free live music from a variety of bands each night, a mock shootout reenactment, and Dockdogs just to name a few. Dockdogs will be a little different this year with the event starting on Thursday, adding an extra day for the dogs to compete.

Additionally on Saturday, there will be a section of activities set up specifically for kids with activities like pin the hat on the cowboy and a ring toss. This year, visitors will have the chance to meet some unexpected people.

“People might want to come out specifically for this is Mr. Wu’s is hosting three of the actors from HBO Deadwood and you can come and meet them there and it costs nothing to meet those actors,” Amanda Kille the Marketing and Sponsorship Director for the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce said.

Those looking to attend that meet and greet have plenty of time to. The actors will be at all three days of the event from 1-9 pm. You can find more information on Wild Bill Days here.
