Temperatures will not be as warm Thursday
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Skies will be mainly clear overnight with lows falling into the 50s for many. A stray shower or two will be possible for parts of northwest South Dakota after midnight and into the morning hours.
Expect sunny skies for Thursday with temperatures in the 70s for the Black Hills and low to mid 80s elsewhere. A beautiful evening for downtown Summer Nights in Rapid City.
Friday will feature a fair amount of cloud cover and the chance for a few showers and storms by the afternoon. It is possible a storm or two may become strong to severe with hail and wind as the primary threats. Temperatures will be a little warmer with many in the 80s and a few spots flirting with 90°. It could get a bit breezy to end the week with gusts up to 40 mph at times.
Temperatures stay warm on Saturday and that could be the next chance for downtown Rapid City to reach 90° for the first time this year. The forecast high is currently 88°. A few stray storms will be possible by the afternoon. Father’s Day will be cooler with highs in the 70s for many. It’ll be mostly sunny, but a bit breezy, especially in the morning hours.
Highs early next week will be in the 60s for many with temperatures near 70° possible Tuesday. We will gradually climb into the 70s and eventually 80s by late next week.
