TOLEDO, Ohio. (WTVG/Gray News) - A 13-year-old entrepreneur in Ohio is back in business thanks to community members who rallied to get him new equipment after his lawn mower was stolen.

Tre’Shawn Pittard was just 11 years old when he started his landscaping business.

After WTVG reported his story in 2022, someone donated a brand-new lawn mower to him, and his equipment haul grew from there.

Now two years later, Tre’Shawn said someone stole one of his lawn mowers, another was broken, and another needed oil and gas.

“So, I was coming back from cutting grass and I put it on the porch. I went inside to go cool down and they stole it,” said Tre’Shawn.

His mother said Tre’Shawn continued getting requests for lawn service, however, he wasn’t able to service his clients.

After hearing about the theft, community members stepped in.

Generous donors dropped off two lawn mowers to Tre-Shawn Monday night. And on Tuesday morning, Mike Bassett of Bassett’s Do It Best Hardware gifted the 13-year-old a new lawn blower, rake, and some emergency funds for his business.

Tre’Shawn and his siblings plan to mow lawns as soon as possible.

He even said he would give whoever cuts the most grass a $20 bonus.
