Body found inside trunk at car dealership ‘likely’ missing woman who walked away from car accident
PINE BELT, Miss. (WDAM/Gray News) - Deputies in Mississippi made a gruesome discovery when they found a body inside a trunk at a car dealership.
The Jones County Sheriff’s Office said the body was found late Monday morning in the trunk of one of the vehicles.
No word yet on the name of the dealership.
Authorities said the body found might be connected to 32-year-old Samantha Elisabeth McCowan, a missing woman who walked away from a vehicle accident last week, WDAM reported.
After hitting a pole with her vehicle, McCowan was seen leaving the scene on foot.
“More than likely, it’s going to be her,” said Jones County Sheriff Joe Berlin.
At this time, law enforcement has not identified the remains or released any details about the body’s gender, age or race.
