Naked man claims he was filming movie before being arrested, police say
EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE/Gray News) - A man was arrested after nearly exposing himself to children, according to police in Evansville, Indiana.
Authorities said around 10 a.m. Saturday morning, officers were called to an intersection for a naked man who was bouncing on the ground and yelling.
Police said several people called 911, with one caller describing the man as being “butterball” naked.
Officers arrived on the scene and found the suspect, 45-year-old Damion Lee Methena.
According to an affidavit, Methena was carrying black shorts on his shoulder and a cut-off shirt was being used to cover his genitals.
Officers told Methena to dress himself since many people had come out of their homes to see what was happening. As he was dressing himself, Methena allegedly claimed he was filming a movie and looked back to his left and pointed to indicate someone was there.
Officers said there was no film crew with him.
Police believe Methena was in a state of intoxication, but he would not tell officers what he took.
According to the Evansville Police Department, Methena’s behavior was erratic. Officers said he seemed to have highs and lows where he was calm one moment, and then belligerent the next.
One witness told police they saw Methena naked and said he was “acting crazy”.
Another witness said they had to hurry their children inside so they wouldn’t see Methena as he started to strip.
Methena was arrested and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail on a $150 bond. He faces charges of public nudity and disorderly conduct.
