Nebraska man pleads guilty to involuntary manslaughter for drunk driving crash
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Lionel Morrison, 52, from Nebraska appeared in federal court Friday and pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter following a fatal drunk driving crash May 24, 2023.
Morrison admits he was driving while intoxicated that night, and this decision led to the death of passenger Gerald Red Cloud. The crash occurred on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
Hours after the crash, Morrison’s blood alcohol content was measured at .277%.
Morrison’s next court date will be his sentencing hearing, which has not been scheduled yet.
