Noem claims Trump’s guilty verdict is a symbol of hope
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - On Thursday, former President Donald Trump was found guilty on all 34 felony counts of falsifying business records.
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has made a public statement following Trump’s recent guilty verdict. Noem believes this was a “sham trial” that was set up for a conviction to allow Democrats to win an election.
Despite the talk of it being a dark day in history, Noem sees the guilty verdict as a symbol of hope and resilience.
“People talk about what a dark day in history was. This is, I think, really a day of hope because I see President Trump still willing to stand up and fight for our freedoms. He said today he wanted to fight to continue to protect our constitution. That’s the foundation of America, and to have someone who can get so attacked and try to be destroyed by them, they want to destroy him and his family. Um, I think everybody who had a part in this trial is going to go down in history as being a part of trying to take down America and a man who is trying to protect it,” Noem said.
Despite his guilty verdict, Noem’s comments show the support that former President Donald Trump continues to receive from his followers.
