Motorcyclist dies after hitting interstate barrier, falling 30 feet into nearby parking lot

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE/Gray News) - A man in Kentucky was killed in a motorcycle crash after police said he drove into a concrete barrier and fell into a nearby parking lot.

The crash happened around 3:10 p.m. Tuesday on I-64 West near the 9th Street exit ramp.

Police said three motorcyclists were speeding when one of the drivers lost control, hit a concrete barrier, and was ejected from his bike. The motorcyclist fell 30 feet to a parking lot off Washington Street near Frazier Museum.

Police said the bike continued another 250 feet before it came to a stop.

The man died at the scene before he could be taken to the hospital. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the man as 23-year-old Cody Cunningham.

The other two motorcyclists also stayed at the scene while police continued to investigate.
