The Sturgis Art Festival returns this weekend
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - If you don’t have any plans for the weekend, officials in Sturgis may have you covered. Main Street in Sturgis will be alive this Saturday and no, it isn’t rally related.
The Sturgis Art Festival is this Saturday and brings much to see and do. The day starts early with vendors setting up and officially kicks off around 11 am when new statues for the Sturgis ArtWalk will be unveiled. The unveiling of each statue will include a brief description of what the work represents and who they are by.
After the Artwalk is over it will nearly be time to switch gears with the annual battle of the bands kicking off around 2 pm. If neither of those things appeals to you don’t stop reading just yet, a large range of vendors will be at the event selling their art as well as a few kid-oriented activities to help keep everyone entertained.
“Everyone probably says this but it’s really an event for everybody there’s music there’s food there’s vendors of all different kinds. There’s something for everyone to do Even little kids we have a chalk contest and a scavenger hunt for them so there’s definitely not a limit on who can come,” Kadence Glesan the Assistant Director of the Sturgis Area of Commerce said.
Those looking to attend can find the event at Harley Davidson Point in Sturgis on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
