Winds dying down later today; unsettled this weekend.
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - Skies become mostly sunny today. The winds will remain strong in the morning hours, but will taper off midday and into the afternoon. Highs will be in the 60s for much of the area.
Memorial Day weekend will bring a chance for showers and storms Saturday afternoon and evening. Sunday will have the best chance for showers and storms through the day. The heaviest rain may end up being in southwest South Dakota and eastern Wyoming.
The good news is Monday, Memorial Day will be mostly sunny and a little warmer. Temperatures will generally be in the 60s on Saturday and Sunday with some 70s expected by Monday. It will be much warmer next week with 70s and 80s likely, along with a few showers and storms Wednesday and Thursday.
