Sunshine and a bit warmer Wednesday
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Skies clear up overnight and temperatures will fall into the 40s across the South Dakota plains. Lows in the 30s are expected in the Black Hills and much of northeast Wyoming, which could lead to some patchy frost. Be sure to cover any gardens or sensitive vegetation in these areas.
Plentiful sunshine is expected Wednesday through early afternoon, then clouds will develop and move into the region closer toward dinner time. While we remain mostly dry, a few isolated showers will be possible. Temperatures will range from the 60s to the 70s.
Thursday will be in the 60s for many, with a few in the 70s. Skies are partly to mostly cloudy through the day. A few showers and storms are possible, but the best chance for storms will be closer toward central South Dakota.
We’ll cool off Friday with highs in the 50s and 60s, but it will be mostly sunny! Temperatures on Saturday will be in the 60s and 70s with a few showers and storms possible. The best chance of rain will arrive Sunday, with a few showers lingering on Memorial Day. Temperatures will be cooler Sunday and Monday with highs in the 60s for many. Some spots will be in the 50s Monday.
A much warmer and drier pattern sets up after Memorial day and into the early part of June. Highs in the 70s and 80s likely.
