RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Storybook Island is a non-profit children’s amusement park in West Rapid City. Entering their 65th summer season, the park’s staff and volunteers are hard at work getting ready for an influx of young visitors.

This year is also the first under Executive Director Mallory Hook, who began working in the position in April.

“We open on May 25th, and we have a couple new sets that have new paint,” Hook said. “The gorilla swing, our pirate ship will have a new, fresh coat of paint. It’ll be really fun for the kids to see something new in the park.”

The summer season will run through September 2. More information on Storybook Island and its summer events can be found by following this link.
