Much warmer to end the week, but a few storms are possible later in the afternoon

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - It will be mild overnight as low temperatures only fall into the 50s. Skies will clear up through the night.

Plenty of sunshine is expected through the middle of the day Friday, but skies will become partly cloudy as a few showers and storms develop in the mid to late afternoon. A few storms may become strong and possible severe. There is a marginal risk for storms tomorrow, which is the lowest of the severe categories, a level one our of five. Hail and wind will be the primary threat if any storms can reach severe criteria. High temperatures will reach the 80s for many and areas near the Badlands could flirt with 90°.

Saturday will not be as warm, but still mild. Many in the 60s to low 70s with sunny skies. It will get breezy Friday night into Saturday morning, but those winds will weaken through the afternoon. Sunday is warmer as highs will reach the 70s and 80s for many. A few afternoon storms will be possible across the region.

A cooler pattern sets up next week with temperatures in the 50s and 60s across the region. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy for much of the week with the chance for showers each day.
