BOX ELDER, S.D. (KEVN) - Law enforcement and service members’ families at Ellsworth Air Force Base were invited to participate in a display as part of National Police Week.

Getting that community involvement between local law enforcement working together with Ellsworth Air Force Base is important, not only during National Police Week but in the grand scheme of things, especially when men and women who are stationed at the base live either in or in the surrounding area.

“People might not know what we and some of the other agencies here actually do,” said Ellsworth Air Force Base 28th Security Forces Squadron Tech Sgt. Ethan Taylor. “So being able to get that awareness out some good transparency and community involvement.”

“Being integrated in the community is extremely important for our families to be supported so the service members can perform the mission,” expressed Ellsworth Air Force Base 28th Bomb Wing Community Engagement Tech Sgt. Levi Rowse.

“It’s amazing that the local agencies and the base agencies all cooperate to protect everybody on and off base,” said Ellsworth Air Force Base Military Working Dog Trainer and Handler Connor Lewis.

The Police Week Show-and-Tell at EAFB is held yearly to tell the story of how effective the partnership between the Air Force base and local law enforcement is.
