Showers and storms today; drier tomorrow.
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - Scattered showers and thunderstorms can be expected today with highs in the 60s for many. A few 50s in the hills and 70s on the plains. The moisture will help push much of the smoke out of western South Dakota and surrounding areas. One or two strong storms are possible south and east of Rapid City where a Marginal Risk of severe thunderstorms exists today. A thunderstorm is classified as “severe” if it produces hail 1″ in diameter or larger, and/or wind gusts of 58 miles per hour or stronger.
Isolated showers and storms will be possible at times on Wednesday; highs range from the 60s to the 70s.
Friday will be much warmer with plenty of sunshine. Many will reach the 70s by the afternoon, but some spots will hit 80°! Don’t get used to the warm air as below normal temperatures and above normal moisture are expected next week and into the following weekend.
