Warm air settles in for Mother’s Day weekend, but a few storms are possible
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - We begin the weekend with sunny skies. A few clouds will be possible later in the afternoon hours as they move in from the northwest. Temperatures will reach the 70s for nearly everyone and a few spots on the South Dakota plains will flirt with 80°.
For Mother’s Day, it will be partly cloudy. While it is mild with highs in the 60s and 70s, a few showers and storms will be possible by the middle of the day and into the afternoon. It is not expected to be a washout, so no need to cancel any outdoor plans. Just keep an eye to the sky.
Storm chances will continue into the first half of next week. It will get breezy once again Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with gusts from 30 to 40 mph possible. Temperatures are expected to be near or above normal.
