Blustery, showery weather early this week.
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KOTA) - A strong storm system will move into the plains early this week and bring strong winds and some showers and isolated thunderstorms.
Today we’ll see widely scattered showers and storms. But a dry line will sweep across the area this afternoon, shunting most of the precipitation chances into central and south-central South Dakota. A couple of strong storms can be expected in those areas. Rain will increase later today over northern and northeastern Wyoming, and this is the area that will likely experience the most precipitation out of this system.
Tonight and Tuesday will feature strong, gusty winds as low pressure winds up to the north. Showers will be likely at time.
The low pressure area moves back to the southeast Wednesday, bringing showers, with a few snow showers possible in the higher elevations of the Black Hills.
Finally, this system is moving away, and we’ll see sunshine and warmer temperatures by the weekend.
