Rain Through the End of the Week; Drier Weekend Ahead
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) -
Overnight, temperatures make it into the 30s in Rapid City, but clouds begin to clear making for mostly sunny skies by the early morning. Winds die down overnight but tomorrow, they pick up again with sustained winds up to 20 mph and gusts up to 30. Rapid City makes it back into the 60s by the afternoon with morning sunshine followed by some rain showers and possibly even some thunderstorms in the afternoon. Let’s take a look at futurecast to show when those storms could possibly start. The first showers and storms start ot fire up tomorrow afternoon and those storms stick around through Friday with multiple rounds of rain moving through. Overnight tonight we are likely going to see those temperatures make it into the 30s everywhere. A few spots will likely drop below freezing in NE Wyoming and in some spots in the Hills. Tomorrow, cooler temperatures are going to stay put over NE Wyoming with 50s likely there and in the Hills but in the foothills and out on the SD Plains we are likely going to see a few spots make it into the low 60s and flirt with the 60 degree mark. The next three days in NE Wyoming and the Northern Hills shows that the rain is sticking around for the next few days. We are going to see Rapid City keep rain showers in the forecast for the rest of the work week, but by the weekend, temperatures rise and we start to dry out. Sunshine returns for both Saturday and Sunday with temperatures making it to the 70s by Sunday. Next week there is an opportunity for some showers and storms on Monday, but the chances are fairly low right now.
