The Naja Shriners roll into town with their annual circus

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Every year the Naja Shriners put on a circus in the Black Hills to raise money for their organization. That money will then be used to provide healthcare for children all over the state. Aside from the good cause, the Naja Shriners Circus is about having fun.

“The circus is just a fun show for all of us to come to, we have great acts, we have elephants, we have all kinds of things, and we just like everybody to come down and have a good time,” Tim Rensch the announcer for this year’s circus said.

The circus will run for three days with two shows on each day except Sunday, which only has a show at 2 p.m. Rensch emphasized what sets their show apart from others.

“At our circus not only are you entertained by very fine top-flight performers but you actually get to come down onto the in-field floor and come close to the elephants, see the performers walk through, and just really enjoy the sounds and flavors of the circus and see it firsthand,” Rensch said.

Tickets are available at the door for the circus located at the Monument Event Center this year and can be a great excuse to get your family out of the house.

“When you go to these circuses you will see children of all ages literally little kids running around smiling and you will see someone who’s older smiling with wonder too,” Rensch said.
