Grand Canyon rangers search for man possibly traveling on self-made raft with his Corgi
GRAND CANYON VILLAGE, Ariz. (KPHO/Gray News) — Officials at the Grand Canyon are looking for a New Mexico man who went missing while possibly traveling on a self-made raft.
National Park Service officials are looking for 58-year-old Thomas Lee Robison after his 2001 champagne Toyota Tacoma was found abandoned. Officials say it was found earlier this week at Lee’s Ferry in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area.
Authorities believe Robison may have tried to go down the Colorado River with his dog, a Welsh Corgi, on a self-made raft.
At this time, officials haven’t said when Robison was last seen alive or contacted. It is unknown if he was traveling alone or part of a group. Park officials also have not said whether he is believed to be in danger.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Grand Canyon Dispatch Center at 928-638-7805.
