Rapper GloRilla arrested for alleged DUI
SUWANEE, Ga. (Atlanta News First/Gray News) - Memphis, Tennessee, rap star GloRilla was arrested this week in Gwinnett County, Georgia.
According to an arrest report, the 24-year-old rapper, whose real name is Gloria Hallelujah Woods, failed a sobriety test after being pulled over for running a red light early Tuesday morning along Peachtree Industrial Boulevard and Suwanee Walk Avenue.
The arresting officer said during the traffic stop, he noticed the smell of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle along with the odor of alcohol on Woods’ breath. The officer also said Woods admitted to consuming an alcoholic beverage that evening at a venue in Atlanta, but refused to say what kind of drink or how many.
Woods agreed to a field sobriety test and failed, but she refused a breath test, the report states.
The police report said a man was also inside the vehicle, who Woods identified as her brother. The officer asked him to step out because he smelled the odor of marijuana. Another officer pulled up to assist in the search of the car and found “marijuana along with an open alcoholic bottle” inside, according to the report.
The rapper was arrested and taken to the Gwinnett County Detention Center on charges of DUI, open container and failure to obey a traffic control device.
Woods was later released on bond.
