Truck driver accused of intentionally crashing into a Kroger
MILLINGTON, Tenn. (WMC/Gray News) – A truck driver is accused of intentionally driving a semi-truck into a Kroger in Tennessee.
The crash happened late Tuesday night at a Kroger in Millington, about 30 minutes north of Memphis.
The driver was identified as 45-year-old Clarence Carter from Nashville.
According to the City of Millington, preliminary investigation found that Carter entered the Kroger store and created a disturbance.
Carter then left the store, got into his truck, and intentionally drove into the store’s front entrance, the city said.
First responders removed Carter from the truck, and he was taken to a local hospital before he was arrested.
He has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, vandalism, and resisting arrest.
Authorities had to remove the semi-truck’s roof to get the vehicle out of the building.
Fortunately, no one else was injured.
