Warm Next Two Days ; Snow for Some, Rain for Others This Weekend
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) -
Clear skies and temperatures remaining mild are likely in Rapid City tonight with a low in the upper 30s. Tomorrow, plenty of sunshine to go around for the entire day and that allows us to get back into the 60s by the afternoon. Some places get even warmer. Futurecast is showing that sunshine continues tomorrow, but partly cloudy skies take over Friday. Saturday morning, precipitation begins to develop off to our west and that will expand east throughout the beginning of the weekend. That brings the cause of concern for significant snowfall over the weekend for some places in NE Wyoming and the Black Hills. Models are still disagreeing on what is going to happen and where the heaviest snowfall is going to be. Timing is looking to be from Saturday night through Monday morning. Overnight tonight, temperatures remain fairly mild with 30s and 40s likely for most by the early morning hours. On the SD Plains, temperatures could likely get down into the upper 20s. Tomorrow, warm air continues with temperatures likely getting into the 60s across much of the region with the possibility of 70s in Western South Dakota and NE Wyoming. Sheridan has the possibility of seeing temperatures flirting with the 80 degree mark. The next three days in NE Wyoming and the Northern Hills shows that the next system moves in after warmth this week. Cooler temperatures and rain likely for the weekend. Rapid City stays in the 60s for the rest of the week with rain likely on the weekend and temperatures cooling off.
