Friday will be chilly with a few snow showers possible
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Isolated snow showers stick around tonight with low temperatures in the 20s for many. Snow showers will linger around the Black Hills region Friday as temperatures remain chilly in the 30s.
Another band of snow will develop Friday night across the South Dakota plains and could bring a dusting to an inch or two of snowfall. Skies will clear up a bit and become partly cloudy midday and early afternoon Saturday, but more clouds will return later in the day with rain and snow showers. Highs will be in the 40s and 50s.
Snow is expected to fall much of Sunday with accumulations likely for many. The heaviest snow remains across Montana, northwest South Dakota and areas to the east. Light to moderate accumulations are possible around the northern hills and into other portions of western South Dakota. It will get windy with some gusts exceeding 40 mph at times.
Snow showers taper off Monday, but it will stay chilly with many in the teens and 20s. Highs will return to the 40s later next week with partly cloudy skies expected.
