Some areas will be a little warmer on Thursday
RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - Partly cloudy skies to the north with temperatures in the 20s. It will be a sunny start to Thursday but clouds increase with rain and snow showers possible later in the afternoon.
Friday will be colder with isolated snow showers. Highs will be in the 30s and 40s. Saturday will be slightly warmer with a mix of 40s and 50s under partly to mostly cloudy skies. Rain and snow showers will be possible, especially into the afternoon hours.
The storm system will begin to make an impact across the area Saturday night and Sunday. Snow will fall and accumulate for some. The best chance for accumulating snow is in southeast Montana, northwest South Dakota and areas near central and eastern South Dakota as well.
The exact path of the low pressure system will determine who gets the heaviest snow and who gets light snow. Confidence will increase toward the end of the week. It will be cold Sunday and into the first half of next week with highs in the 20s and 30s.
