School district grieves loss of 3 students following fiery interstate crash
SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WHNS/Gray News) - A school district is grieving the loss of three students who died in a fiery crash Saturday night.
“Ashton, Jaicurious, and Jalecia were all loving students with infectious smiles,” Spartanburg School District said in a Facebook post.
The students were siblings.
“May the memories of our precious students live on forever,” the district said.
Ashton Olley, 14, Jaicurious Gist, 11, and Jaleica Gist, 8, died when a car hauler hit the car that they were traveling in along I-26 and SC 292 in South Carolina.
All five people in the car died, including 35-year-old Ashia Ballenger. Authorities believe the fifth victim was 57-year-old Leroy Covington, but are still waiting on DNA results to confirm.
