Updates on North Rapid shooting, video of suspect fleeing scene

RAPID CITY, S.D. (KEVN) - The Rapid City Police Department is seeking the public’s help for information on the shooting in North Rapid, on Feb. 21.

Below is a video of the shooting suspect fleeing from the scene of the shooting.

If anyone recognizes the individual in the video or their clothing description, they are asked to contact police at the non-emergency dispatch number.

Additionally, RCPD has identified a general area of interest that the shooting suspect may have traveled on foot in the minutes following the shooting. Residents in the marked area (below photo) are encouraged to check any security/doorbell cameras for any suspicious activity in the timeframe of 6:55 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. on Feb. 21.

Anyone who thinks they may have any video worth sharing in the investigation can also contact police via the non-emergency dispatch number.
