DICKENS, Texas (KCBD/Gray News) - A Texas community is mourning the loss of a couple who died 12 hours apart from each other.

According to an obituary posted by the Hudman Funeral Home, Cindy Guthrie died last Saturday at 66 years old surrounded by loved ones.

Her husband, Danny Guthrie, also 66, died in his sleep at their home in the Dickens area the following day.

“In death, as in life, they went together, having not spent a day of their 45 years of marriage apart,” the obituary stated.

They were married in November 1978 and raised three sons: Vance Guthrie, Derek Guthrie and Brant Guthrie.

Instead of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House, local animal rescue facilities or a charity.
