Navy parachutist accidentally lands on spectators during demonstration

SAN FRANCISCO (TMX) - A U.S. Navy parachutist crashed into a crowd of spectators at a San Francisco Fleet Week event on Sunday, injuring a woman and her teenage child, according to a video captured at the scene.

A video shared by X user @MonetRocks shows members of the U.S. Navy Leap Frogs team parachuting down to a field filled with spectators around an open landing zone at around 12:35 p.m. Sunday. One parachutist flying in with a California flag makes a perfect landing moments before the next parachutist overshoots the landing zone.

The parachutist can be seen barreling into a group of people, landing on top of a woman and her teenager.

Video shows the woman being placed on a stretcher.

According to the San Francisco Fire Department, the mother and teen sustained minor injuries and were transported to a hospital for evaluation.

The parachutist, meanwhile, walked away unharmed.
