(CNN) - Bath & Body Works has stopped selling one of its candles after its design sparked controversy online.

The label on the holiday-scented candle was decorated with a stylized paper snowflake.

But many people on social media compared it to the hoods and robes worn by Ku Klux Klan members.

Bath & Body Works has apologized and pulled the candle from its website and retail locations, according to CNN.

Candles are a staple at Bath & Body Works. The retailer’s collection of holiday-scented candles accounts for nearly 40% of its annual sales.
